AUTOMATED LIBRARY:
ASAUB Library introduced automation system in October 2009. Now the entry of the resource materials such as book or non-book materials, journals is going on full sewing. It is a pleasure to us that the students, teachers and other users, by this time, can check the books which are available in the library through its OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue) system. To begin an OPAC session, go to http://library/mirror/index.php. At the same time, users can check their current status. Faculty members can place new library materials requisition through website.
DIFFERENT SECTIONS OF THE LIBRARY:
The library is organized into six sections i.e. Acquisition, Processing, Circulation, Reference, Cyber, Audio-Visual section.
LIBRARY ORGANIZATION:
Classification
This classification scheme, designed by Melville Dewey in 1876, is used by the ASAUB library. Dewey divides knowledge into ten main classes with further subdivisions accompanied by decimal notation. This notation repeats patterns, develops subjects with parallel construction, and repeats standard subdivisions so that it is easy to browse the shelves in a logical manner. Library resources are arranged on the shelves subject-wise in numerical order and are classified according to the widely used Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC) scheme so that items can be found easily.Cataloging:
Books are cataloged directly into the computer using customized library software. Library personnel are ready to assist/help the users in searching books or other materials.Library collection at a glance
