Chronological History

• The University Library is founded in 2007. It opens with 1,000 volumes and grows slowly over the next few years.
• University BOG Chairman Mr. Md. Shafiqual Haque Choudhury, in a speech, proposes to create an ASAUB Library as a Centre of Excellence of the university. On the other hand, University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Md. Muinuddin Khan states that the Library should accumulate "...at least twenty thousand of books as rapidly as possible..." The library has a plan to increase its space in future to house the collection.
• Dr. Md. Serajul Islam, former Chief Librarian of the University of Dhaka was the first librarian of the ASA University Bangladesh. By the end of his tenure, the Library has got a nice shape.
• Mr. A. K. Monsur Ahmed arrives as university librarian in 2008. He steers the Library into the automation system. He is serious to increase the collections of the library. By 2009, the Library becomes one of the promising academic research libraries in the country.
• Today, in 2010 with holdings of about ten thousand volumes, the Library has strengths in many areas, ranging from social sciences to the humanities. The fields most often cited by faculty, students and visiting scholars are: Accounting; Management; Finance and Banking; Marketing; Mathematics; Economics ; law; History; Philosophy; Arts; Education; English and American literature; Computer Science etc.
