Asian TV in collaboration with ASA University Bangladesh organized an “Anti-Drug Campaign†on 23 November 2017 at the 9th floor, ASA auditorium, at ASAUB campus. The program was divided into two parts, a quiz session participated by students of ASAUB with 6 respective clubs and a formal closing program with our special guests and University dignitaries. Guest Speakers who participated in the program were Mr. Mohammad Jamal Uddin Ahmed, Director General, Department of Narcotics Control, Ministry of Home Affairs, Dr. Md. Khaled, Secretary, University of Grants Commission of Bangladesh and Mr. Tony Khan, Business man.

Department of English, ASA University Bangladesh (ASAUB) organized the farewell ceremony to outgoing students of 20th batch on 31 July, 2017. Prof. Dr. Abu Daud Hasan, Dean, Faulty of Arts and Social Sciences and Chairman, Department of English chaired the program. Md. Saiful Alam, Acting Dean, Faculty of Law and Chairman Department of Law, Dr. Ahasun Habib, Acting Chairman, Dept. Of Applied Sociology of ASA University Bangladesh were present in the program. Faculty members, officials and students of the Department participated in the Program.
The outgoing students reminisced on the occasion. The ceremony concluded with a colorful cultural program.
Language Club, ASA University Bangladesh, organized a workshop on “Career as a News Presenter” on 19th January 2017 in collaboration with GPE- Gladiolus Presentation Education, an institute for news presentation. Ten news presenters from different channels ran the workshop with an aim to prepare potential future news presenters. The workshop offered technical aspects and live news presentation handling techniques. Professor Dr. Abu Daud Hasan, Dean, Faulty of Arts and Social Science and Chairman, Department of English, ASAUB inaugurated the program, Mr. Sheikh Md. Razab Ali, Registrar of ASAUB gave the welcome speech. The opening session began with News System and News presentation by Mr Rana Islam, Executive producer Deepto TV followed by other sessions by renowned TV presenters, Mr Md. Nazrul Islam Baboo. Sharmin Nahar Lina, Kaniz fatema Lopa, Quazi Sayedul Islam, Reaz Hafiz, Mohsena Shaon, Subrata Saha, Rashed Rahman, Naomi Anchol and Sumaiya Afrin Ahona.The workshop was coordinated by Diana Ansarey, Assistant Professor and Moderator, ASAUB Language Club; Deans of faculties, departmental Chairs and faculty members, and key officials of ASAUB were also present. Mr Mohammad Masudur Rahman, Deputy Registrar, ASA University Bangladesh was also present in the program.

Coming from a different ethnic origin I‘ve found no difficulty
at ASA University Bangladesh. The Department of English has become
my family for its excellent multicultural atmosphere. From the very

are enormous opportunities to do so. My gratitude to all the faculties

Department of English of ASA University Bangladesh is a place
where occurred my second birth. I came to know myself after I
happened to be part of it. It is such a platform where students
not only achieve academic excellence through the proper guidance
of experienced, friendly, and learned faculty members but also
get plenty of opportunities to explore their talents. I am personally
indebted to the department, all faculty members, the English Club,
and the administrative stuff as well. Long live the Department of English,
long live the English Club ASAUB.
The English Club ASAUB of the Department of English of ASA University Bangladesh (ASAUB) staged William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet under the direction of Md. Abdul Qaiyum Bhuiyan on October 31, 2017 at Experimental Theatre Hall, BSA. The entire project was coordinated by Diana Ansarey, assistant professor of the department.
The play which is set in Verona is a story about a long feud between the Montague and Capulet families. This feud causes tragic results for the main characters in the play, Romeo and Juliet. The events contrast hatred and revenge with love and a secret marriage, forcing the young star-crossed lovers to grow up quickly and die tragically in despair.
The performance was appreciated by the audience. English Club of ASAUB is renowned for its wide range of co-curricular activities and always tries to pursue something beyond the curriculum.
The newly formed English Club ASAUB team successfully organized it's first big event, a workshop entitled "Leadership Workshop Training", held on 16 October, 2017, in ASA Auditorium of ASA University Bangladesh (ASAUB).
The event was presided over by Professor Dr. Abu. Daud Hasan, Dean Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences and Chairman Department of English and coordinated by Diana Ansarey, assistant professor, Department of English. The workshop was conducted by two expert trainers from ACI Limited, one of the largest companies of the country.
The guest trainers were: Md. Mainul Islam, Director, HR, ACI Limited and Md. Masud Karim, Head of Training, ACI Limited.In his session Mr. Md. Mainul Islam encompassed the wide area of leadership, focused on self grooming to become the leader of life and achieve a fulfilling career. "Hard-work, ambition, passion and strategic plan can do wonders" he mentioned.
Mr. Md. Mainul Islam taught the participant students by giving examples, updated data, videos and powerpoint presentation. His own experiences, teachings, wits, intellect and interactions with the audience made the occasion lively. A large number of students were present in the workshop. In his concluding speech honorable Dean thanked the trainers for conducting the workshop brilliantly. He also advised the students to use the lessons learnt from the workshop and to act accordingly.
After the workshop, the guests participated in photo shooting with the faculties and students. Afterwards they paid a visit to the Department of English and had a look to the artworks that are exhibited as a part of department decor.
