Prize giving ceremony and Cultural Program and Farewell of 12th Batch - English Day 2015

English Club of ASA University Bangladesh (ASAUB) celebrated English Day 2015 on Tuesday 21 April with great enthusiasm and different colorful programs on the campus auditorium. Professor Dr. Md. Abu Daud Hasan Dean, Faculty of Arts and Social Science, Chairman, Dept. of English inaugurated the program.
English Club started its journey from September 2007. During the last month English Department had arranged a talent hunt competition organized by English Club in a variety of categories: dance, song, public speaking, sketching, photography, recitation and drama aiming to bring out the inner potentiality of students in the department.
In celebration of the above competitions English Club had organized English Day 2015 which was an all day activity starting with a rally followed by recitation and drama, public speaking in the literature corner, at 9th floor auditorium ASAUB. This was followed by a formal prize giving ceremony and a Farewell was given to the 12th Batch.
Prof. Dr. Dalem Ch. Barman , Vice Chancellor, ASA University Bangladesh was chief guest, special auspicious guests included Dr. Enamul Hoque and Ms. Romana Rashid Dowla (Ishita). Prof. Md. Muinuddin Khan, the Advisor of ASAUB was also present on the occasion. Registrar Md. Khalequzzaman gave the welcome speech, Professor Dr. Md. Abu Daud Hasan Dean, Faculty of Arts and Social Science, Chairmen, Dept. of English presided over the program. All Deans, Chairman of the Department and Faculty members of the English Department were present.
The University awarded 1st, 2nd, and 3rd prizes to winning contestants. Jury included renowned song and dance artists Iffat Ara Nargis and Munmun Ahmed respectively. The winners performed in the cultural program. This talent hunt is the first of a kind in the Department of English
The program was coordinated by Diana Ansarey, Assistant Professor, Dept. of English, ASAUB, Coordinator English Club, with the support of faculty members of the Department of English Mr. Ariful Islam Laskar, senior lecturer, Mr. Naser Emdad, senior lecturer, Ms. Subarna Shirin, senior lecturer, Ms. Tahmina Ali Barna, lecturer, Mr. Shahid Md. Adnan, lecturer.
