ASA University Bangladesh Launches the “Research & Innovation Cell”

ASA University Bangladesh (ASAUB) has officially inaugurated its newly established Research and Innovation Cell, aimed at strengthening the culture of research and innovation in higher education across the country. The inauguration ceremony took place today at 11 AM in the University’s IQAC conference room, followed by a ribbon-cutting ceremony on the first floor to mark the official opening of the Cell.

The event was graced by Professor Dr. Md. Belal Hossain, Pro-Vice Chancellor of Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University, as the Chief Guest. Professor Dr. Md. Ali Akbar, former Vice Chancellor of Bangladesh Agricultural University, Professor Dr. Kazi Shahdat Kabir, Pro-Vice Chancellor, City University, Khagan, Birulia, Savar attended as the Special Guest. Professor Dr. Mohammad Faruque, Member of ASA University Bangladesh’s Board of Trustees, was also present. The ceremony was chaired by Professor Dr. S. M. Rezaul Karim, Vice Chancellor of ASA University Bangladesh.

The inauguration was attended by Vice Chancellors, Pro-Vice Chancellors, distinguished professors of different universities, honorary fellows, renowned researchers, and respected faculty members from local colleges—representing the academic community at large. In their remarks, speakers praised the initiative as both timely and visionary, emphasizing that fostering a culture of research and innovation will inspire the next generation of students to pursue global standards of knowledge and inquiry. In the Ceremony, the previous research done & proposed researches at ASAUB were visualized by different faculty members.

In his speech, Chief Guest Professor Dr. Md. Belal Hossain remarked, “Research and innovation form the backbone of a nation. A university should not merely be a place for teaching and examinations—it must serve as a factory of new knowledges, where questions arise, experiments unfold, and ideas are born. ASA University Bangladesh has taken an important step on that very path. I believe, this initiative will open a new horizon in the country’s higher education system. The ASAUB Research & Innovation Cell will stand as a beacon of inspiration for future researchers and innovators.”

Presiding over the ceremony, Professor Dr. S. M. Rezaul Karim, Vice Chancellor of ASAUB, stated, “The mission of ASA University Bangladesh is not only to disseminate knowledge but also to generate new knowledge. The Research and Innovation Cell will serve as our intellectual hub of the future, nurturing the scientific curiosity of young researchers.” He requested the honorable fellows to continue in the development aspects and student’s enrollment issues in the ASAUB.
